The University Club is Gainesville’s most popular gay club. They cater to gays, lesbians and transvestites. Noticeably, even straight men and women are drawn to the colorful shows and nice atmosphere.

The University club is open 7 days a week and is like a breath of fresh air for the gay community. Pearl, the lead of the drag show really carries the event very well and is a pleasure to watch.

The University Club is located on East University Avenue in Gainesville. On most days they are open from 5:00 pm to 2:00 am. On Saturdays they open at around 9:00 pm.

On Mondays to Fridays they have happy hour from 5:00pm to 9:00 pm, this means free pool too. For Mondays, the evening happy hour starts at 9:00pm until 2:00am. Tuesdays at the University club means cheap drinks. You can avail of two for one well and draft beers from 10:00pm until 2:00am. Their long Island Iced tea and international beers are priced at $3. On Wednesdays, you can have a domestic longneck beer and single liquor wells for only $2.50 between 9:00pm and 2:00am. Friday is band night with single liquor wells for only $2.50. There is no happy hour on Saturdays since they open at 9:00pm.

The music at the University Club varies from tunes from the 80’s to the top ten songs of today. A visit to The University club will make your all your worries flow out the window, this is part of the University clubs charm.
